Amazing Highlights From CES 2022

The CES 2022 event has come and gone but we haven’t gotten over it yet that we had to bring you a recap of some of the amazing highlights that made this year’s edition. The show which began on Wednesday 5th January witnessed several announcements. The event which was last held virtually due to the effects of the pandemic returns to a physical venue for the first time since 2020.

In this highlight article we focus on some of the smart devices you wouldn’t have imagined at the CES 2022 event. Asides from the fact that Samsung’s new version of the ever-popular Galaxy S21 – the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE, or ‘Fan Edition’ and the Realme GT 2 Pro made highlights, here are other smart technologies that did, find details below.

CES 2022: Phone Announcements

Vivo V23 Pro Review, First Impression Mid-Ranger Packs a Punch

Vivo 23 and Vivo 23 Pro: First on the list and start off very light is the newly announced smartphone by Vivo. At this year’s show Vivo 23 and its big brother, the Vivo 23 Pro came as guests and were introduced to the audience. Both mobile devices present a good case for purchase. These two mid-rangers possess some interesting camera features and will be going on sale for £300 and £390 respectively.

OnePlus 10 Pro: Although OnePlus actually didn’t make it to CES 2020, the company continue to feed the public with info about its new handset online daily. So if you like sleek looking devices with feature-packed advantages, boasting an 80W ‘SuperVooc’ charging facility, you may want to keep your eyes on the OnePlus 10 Pro.

Nokia G400: HMD Global, Nokia brand owners launches a new range. The G400 is the top of the range, which will actually cost around £230. The Nokia G400 comes packed with 5G, a 5000 mAh battery, 6GB of RAM, 128 GB of storage plus a full HD screen and is complete with a 120Hz refresh rate. If you ask around that may be a whole lot of bang within that price bracket.

 

CES 2022: Gaming announcements

PlayStation VR 2 Rumored To Be Entering Production Soon

PlayStation VR 2: Sony confirmed the name of its next virtual reality gaming headset, PlayStation VR2, which will be compatible with the PS5. It promises “new sensory features, enhanced controls, and tracking and upgraded visual fidelity”. Horizon Call of the Mountain, from the makers of Horizon Zero Dawn, is set to be the first game on the platform.

One of the gaming announcements made at CES 2022 is the wireless version of the popular Cloud Alpha headset peripheral game maker HyperX. The headset’s lacking wires isn’t the most notable element it possesses, according to HyperX, the headset boasts up to 300 hours of battery life after a single charge, which would produce about 12 and a half days of gaming juices.

Dell Alienware: Dell announced a new Alienware flexible gaming set-up that will allow users to transition easily from gaming on television in one room, to using a screen or computer in another room seamlessly. It sounds like the gaming equivalent of Sonos’s seamless multi-room sound systems and will rely heavily on cloud computing for top-end games.

Sony Bravia XR TV range: At the CES 2022 Sony revealed the all-new MASTER Series A95K which belongs to the ‘MASTER Series’ of televisions. The A95K is Sony’s only QD-OLED model coming to store shelves in 2022, but Sony says it will boast 200% the colour saturation of a normal LED-LCD TV with wider viewing angles and better black levels. Thanks to its XR Cognitive Processor and its revolutionary new heat dissipation system, the A95K will have the ability to control contrast and maximize brightness much better than before – giving it an advantage that outshines the traditional OLED screens.

Sengled’s new smart light bulb is that smart device you use to track your sleeping patterns without the need for a smartwatch. According to the lighting company, radar technology was been added to this bulb that makes it easy to monitor biometric measurements of vital signs such as heart rate, body temperature etc. The light company reveals that when multiple Bluetooth-enabled bulbs are used together in a home, a meshed network is created which “help detect human behaviour and determine if someone has fallen and sent for help.”

Well not everyone sees the need for this technology but we’ll still talk about it anyway. Have you kind of wished to get up-close and personal with the feathered friends that visit your backyard or balcony? Well here is what Bird Buddy, the $199 camera-enabled bird feeder could do. The feeder connects to your home WiFi network, captures photos and videos of those wandering birds visiting, after capturing it is then streamed live to an app on your phone. The app which is available for pre-order now and ships in June uses artificial intelligence that tells you what kinds of birds you’re looking at. An album tracking the history of your bird visitors will be saved automatically and shared with family and friends as you desire.

Most people have probably never thought of it as an issue, but Kohler has and this has led to the company announcing the new “PerfectFill Smart Bathing.” Technology. This well though technology will let users preset their various preferences and by the way that includes your family too, for both temperature and fill levels and draw a bath with a voice command. The product seeing or $2,700, isn’t yet available for shipping, however, the company will notify customers when it’s available on its website.

The Petnow Technology

Samsung’s internal accelerator program — C-Lab startups didn’t disappoint at the CES 2022, with some unusual but delightful products. The company introduces a unique app called the Petnow app, this app lets you use your dog’s nose print as a mode to identify them should they get lost instead of making use of implanted microchips. The app boasts of an AI system that analyses the unique wrinkles in the dog’s nose. These dog wrinkles are said to remain unchanged over time, just like a human fingerprint. Still wondering what the sole use of this app, well primarily it aims at helping pets reconnect with their owners.

Sony’s AI Hawk-Eye tech – Skeletrack

Sony’s Hawk-Eye division has already brought goal-line technology to soccer, but now a next-gen version called Skeletrack could finally put an end to controversies that arise as a result of sport’s VAR offside. In a demo of Hawk-Eye’s new Skeletrack tech showed by Sony, the company details how the ‘virtual recreation’ of on-pitch action could soon be used to automatically judge offside decisions with similar accuracy to its current goal-line technology. During the demo, Sony mentioned that “Skeletrack analyzes the ball position as well as the players’ positions and postures in real-time with AI, then visualizes the game through virtual recreation.”

You thought we would skip that part of CES 2022, no way. Although just a few bundles of wearables made it to the event, the most exciting remain two new watches from Garmin -the Venu 2 Plus and the Vivomove Sport. The Venu 2 Plus is the first Garmin watch with a microphone so you can take calls directly from your wrist mid-workout or use the voice assistant on your phone. The Vivomove Sport is a new addition to Garmin’s range of hybrid devices which combines digital/analogue display. It has essentially the same specs as the Vivomove 3 but comes at a slightly cheaper price. Check Garmin’s range of golf launch monitors, too.
