Microsoft just announced that August 2nd is the day the 2TB console will be hitting the shelves in some regions. Its been about a month since they announced the new Xbox One S and virtual reality (VR) based Project Scorpio which launches next year. If you recall, Microsoft has fixed that same day to celebrate the first anniversary of Windows 10 which they say has now recorded about 350 million installs in less than a year since it was released to the public last year July 29th.
“You can pre-order a 2TB Xbox One S launch edition through microsoftstore.com and select retailers. Availability is limited and demand is high so you’ll want to check with your local retailer for more information and pre-order your console soon” said Matt Lapsen, who is the General Manager, Xbox Devices Marketing at Microsoft who also said this particular version will go for $399/144,000 Naira and if you want to buy the controller separately, that would go for $59.99/21,000.
So unless you are in of the regions in bracket (Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, UK and United States), you may not be able to take delivery of the new console by the August 2nd date but there are other ways of getting this of course. Well the best one is to go through one your friends or family in any of the listed countries and have them send it to you separately and even this may not guarantee that you will get it on the second of August if you live in Nigeria like me and other African nations unless of course you have a plane ready to deliver it to you once the other person takes delivery. Microsoft has promised to bring the device to more markets before the year runs out so the other option may just be patience for some of us.
Xbox One S is 40 percent smaller than what you’re used to and if you think 2TB of storage space is too much for you, the 1TB will go for $349/122,000 Naira while 500GB will be priced at $299/105,000 Naira.
