Google To Merge YouTube Red And Google Play Music Into A Service

YouTube Red and Google Play Music will soon merge into one service according to reports. Well this has been confirmed to an extent by first acknowledging that YouTube Red (its ads free service that allows you save videos offline too) service hasn’t still caught up with users. But the challenge is that Google has is that it has different platforms offering similar services which means YouTube Red which already allows you access Google Play Music when you pay the $9.99 subscription fee and then there’s YouTube Music which is accessible by anyone.

By combining YouTube Red and Google Play Music into a service, it actually makes sense now that there’s the $35/month YouTube TV which will offer YouTube Red services as well. What this complex equation means is that once you have a YouTube TV subscription in future, you would in essence be getting whatever new service YouTube Red and Google Play Music offers as well.

In a statement to The Verge, Google says “Music is very important to Google and we’re evaluating how to bring together our music offerings to deliver the best possible product for our users, music partners and artists. Nothing will change for users today and we’ll provide plenty of notice before any changes are made.”

As of now though it’s not clear what this service will be called or what it would look like and as such we don’t know if it would be offered as a complementary service on YouTube TV.
