Google’s YouTube rolls out a mini ads-free tier subscription of its existing Premium subscription. The new YouTube Premium Lite is expected to be suitable for its users that can afford the initial premium subscription the video streaming app offers without ads.

YouTube Premium Lite offers a cheaper subscription fee with zero ads while surfing through YouTube’s gallery. YouTube launched this service surreptitiously that costs half the price of its existing Premium service, according to /r/YouTube’s post-Reddit.

Although YouTube confirmed the availability of its Premium Lite “in Nordics and Benelux (except for Iceland),” — Nordics and Benelux regions include Finland, Belgium, Norway, Luxembourg, Sweden, Denmark, Netherlands.

“We’re testing a new offering to give users even more choice: Premium Lite costs N 3,415.28/month (or local equivalent per month) and it includes ad-free videos on YouTube.”

Still, YouTube did not disclose when Premium Lite with zero ads will be available for the rest of its users around the world. Premium Lite is cheaper than the original Premium subscription that costs N5,858.89/month.

It is worth noting that both YouTube Premium & YouTube Premium Lite offers a complete ads-free video streaming service. Technology suggests YouTube’s latest Premium Lite is likely to rival other media streaming platforms such as Apple Music and Spotify.

Premium Lite is available on all OS platforms including, smart TVs, Android, the web, and iOS — this service represents the most preferred choice for users to subscribe to a streaming service. Premium Lite is also exclusive to YouTube’s kids’ app, and it is ad-free too.

As expected, the video streaming app can’t be all generous whereby YouTube’s Premium Lite appears as a limited version of its original YouTube Premium. It is worth noting that some features will be absent such as offline downloads and background playback.

Premium Lite offers similar complete YouTube services as well as encouraging other creators to access the affordable subscription that is suitable for users solely interested in ads absence.
