Ok let’s get started with some sad news for the Nokia mobile brand. The brand which Microsoft bought over in April will no longer bear the name “Nokia Lumia” but Microsoft Lumia. This was announced on the Nokia France site. Read more here
Facebook has just launched the “Rooms” pseudo anonymous app. The app allows users to chat with each using secure QR codes. Read more here
So Google announced two major services; one being an effort to combat online music piracy with its new initiative to promote links to sites like Spotify and other legal music platforms, Read more here. The internet giant also launched “Inbox”; a new app that helps organise you inbox and brings up important messages to you. Samsung also reported some 5G breakthrough with successful in-house speed tests. The South Korean company has seen its sales of smart devices slow in recent months but is hoping the pick momentum again with other product launches coming soon. To read more on this story, click here
Some good news for Yahoo! It shares surged briefly on earnings from Aliababa shares. The company has struggled to compete with other players like Google and has sought to increase its revenue base and internet presence.
