WhatsApp is reportedly testing a feature that would allow your recall sent messages as long as they haven’t been read. Now that should help with those unintended panic/angry messages that you wish you can take back.
The feature could come as early as your next WhatsApp update. The delete button in WhatsApp will provide you what Gmail already allows you to do when you send emails. In the Gmail Undo Send, once you have clicked on the send button, you’ll then see an option to “unsend” it between 5 and 10 seconds. You have to select one of the options.
In addition to this, WhatsApp is testing a Live Location Tracking feature that would allow friends track each other’s location. You will be able to share your locations with friends for up to five minutes at a time.
With respect to privacy, you may have to turn the feature on in settings to use the two new features especially the tracker one. This service reminds us of the Google’s Trusted Contacts which allows lets your friends and family know when you’re in motion or have stopped moving. It even lets them know if you have a low battery so that they can track you to your last known location.
