New feature rolling out soon for all Facebook-owned WhatsApp users, which will help users notify their contact when they change of number. This information was first spotted at WABetainfo, and this feature is rolling out for all WhatsApp beta users with the Android version 2.17.375.
How it works
Users will be able to change their number on their device by navigating to their WhatsApp settings then click on account to change of number. WhatsApp in a report has made it clear that changing the already registered number on their device, the process will also migrate the account info, groups and settings, also added that users will need to enter both new and already old existing number in order to proceed and with this the number update will be changed and group on the user’s phone will be notified of the change but can’t notify the users contact expect it is done manually.
However, WhatsApp has noticed the problem of users going through difficulty in notifying their contacts one after the other and has found a way to fix the problem by implementing the feature and making it available for everyone. The feature reportedly will allow users decide who they want to notify from the list of contacts they have, from the lots of people they chat with , from a custom list , or handpicked contacts , however some reports explained that the new feature will transfer personal message to the new number WhatsApp account.
