The leading mobile network operator in Oman, Vodafone Oman, in an obvious move to latch on the global digitalization move has launched new digital services for the customers.
Vodafone Oman has offered a time-limited “launch offer” featuring 77GB of data, 777 minutes, and 777 SMS messages to its prospective customers, in what would be a refreshing piece of news to the teeming populace of the Asian nation.
The company also launched a flagship Vodafone Hub store at Muscat’s Mall of Oman, and according to a statement on the operator’s Twitter page, this provides what is described as a “must-see place to check out the latest technologies and showcasing the best in local tech talent”.
The arrival of the new telco is expected to bring a next-generation 5G network and cloud services to Oman, with the company’s spokesperson adding that the plans consist of moving into ecosystems that reach far beyond telecommunications.
The company which received the Oman’s government license to operate in the oldest continuously independent state in the Arab world in the year 2019, has the formal approval for it to operate as a third operator given to it a year ago.
“Connecting for a better future is our company’s purpose. We set out to be the pioneers of digital innovation and sustainable growth in our community”, says Bader Zidi, CEO of Vodafone in Oman. He continues to say, “Our main objective is to advance digital progress, initially by bringing next-generation 5G networks and cloud service and then subsequently going into ecosystems that reach far beyond telecommunication. Vodafone is positioned as Oman’s premier technology company, digitalizing lifestyles and society. “
The Oman authorities predicated their move to initiate a bid for a new mobile operator on the need to improve communication services, generate fresh job opportunities for Omanis, and enhance the country’s GDP.
It is on the aegis of the job creation interest of the Oman government that Vodafone Oman has laid emphasis on the employment of Omanis into their workforce, together with a local partnership ecosystem across key sectors. Vodafone is expected to provide services through 3,500 authorized distributors and a comprehensive network.
The entry of a new player into the telecom industry is expected to trigger price competition, and the consumers are the gainers in the long run as they will benefit in the market where internet access is presumably high compared to other countries in the region.
“With our launch, we are redefining the way people experience communication by eliminating customer service pain points in the industry. Big Data Analytics and extensive market research tell us that customers want radically different, innovative, and transparent products. I am excited to unveil our 77 launch offer, the first-of-its-kind offering with attractive global features to benefit our customers want radically different, innovative, and transparent products,” said Jan Holzberg, Commercial Director of Vodafone in Oman.
