Mozambique finally makes the list of African countries to be connected with the fifth-generation internet broadband connection powered by Vodacom. The mobile network provider’s 5G network debut in Mozambique’s digital landscape will frontline technology proliferation in the local digital economy and Vodacom as well.

Vodacom CEO, Nuno Quelhas shared comments in line with the country’s minister of transportation and communication, about the 5G network debut that serves as another network expansion by the mobile network service towards the navigated axis of Mozambique. The telecom giant expansion to the East African region with a fifth-generation internet connectivity debut gives the telecom service provider opportunity to penetrate millions of the tech-savviest population in Mozambique.

Still, Vodacom promises to be relentless in exploring the Mozambique digital landscape with emerging technology to bolster revenue. The mobile network provider report to deploy the 5G network is selected locations in the country including, Maputo (the state capital), Matola; the central area of Nampula; downtown Nacala, Munhava, Maquinino, Chipanga neighborhoods; Beira; and Tete.

Quelhas also highlighted up to seven countries where the mobile network operations are active, while Vodacom relentlessly thrives to frontline high-end telecommunications services in its existing marketplace. “5G would help to expand financial inclusion in Mozambique, as the aim is to cover 75% of the adult Mozambican population by 2025 and make payments through M-Pesa available anywhere in the country”

Just like how the Kenyan president, Williams Ruto was present to support the Fingo neo-bank launch, the Mozambique minister of transportation and communication, Mateus Magala was also present during the 5G launch by Vodacom. Magala’s office actually consented before the network service provider debuted the fifth-generation internet broadband.

“5G Technology will significantly improve the quality of the telecommunications service provided in the country, particularly in the materialization of the Internet of things (IoT), [as] well as ‘smart everything’ (smart cities, smart agriculture, smart ports, etc.), as it is the technology that better supports these cases,” Magala said.

It becomes less intriguing that the 5G broadband Vodacom is introducing to Mozambique is focused on accelerating technological innovation in altered communication. With a 5G broadband connection deployed in the country, it gives the mobile network provider an edge to penetrate the marketplace with high-end internet technology.
