According to Statista’s latest report, the ride-hailing users are expected to touch 1531.5 m in 2023. The reports suggest that the revenue generated in the ride-hailing business in 2019 was $183,677m. In which Nigeria’s ride-hailing business accounted 136.3 m. It is absolutely encouraging for those who are thinking of investing in the ride-sharing business in their city.

Africa is in the midst of digitization boom. It has influenced 54 countries and 1.2 billion people in Africa. Most importantly, Smartphone penetration and increasing internet users (growth of 20%) have taken Africa by storm. People nowadays prefer to book everything online. They don’t want any hustle while they are commuting. Uber-like ride-hailing services have become an integral part of their life.

Oga Taxi

It was launched by Michael Nnnamadim and Ameh Idoko back in 2016. Oga is the native ride-hailing startup in Nigeria. Within a less time, Oga has outmaneuvered foreign player like Uber and Bolt by providing unique features in their app and good commission to drivers (which uber failed to do)

The app allows passengers to ride solo as well as share the taxi with someone they know if they are heading the same direction. By doing so riders can save up to 40% of their taxi fare.

Oga offers three ride-sharing options. Standard, Delux, and executive.

 

Jekalo

It was launched by Bolarinwa Motoni in 2015. It is also an another Uber clone taxi option for Nigeria people for communing from A to B. The ride-hailing service offers options for rider and Taxi drivers. Those who have their own car can register as Jekalo driver and use the admin panel from the Jekalo. They could start their business in Jekalo and earn handsome money.

Afro

Afro is another uber clone competing with other Nigerian e-hailing apps. When the app was launched back in 2014, it was named “Afrocab”. Later on, it was rebranded as Afro in mid-2015. The company boasts itself as the “for African” and “by African” taxi app. The app was made by Nigerian developers.

The taxi app has three options like any other taxies like Uber. Private, taxi, and luxe.

InDriver

InDriver is working in 31 Countries and 300+ counties across the globe. The company claims that they have given power in the passenger’s hand. The cab works differently than other can models.

The passenger could book nearby InDriver cab through online. The catch here is that the customer can set the fare and negotiate with the driver before finalizing the trip. If both the parties agree,  then the trip is confirmed. By doing so passenger can save up to 30%.

OMA

Oma is yet another successful Uber clone startup working in Nigeria. The app has four ride models named Oma prime, Oma lite, Oma taxi, Oma Keke. These models are suitable for various kinds of passenger needs.

Apart from the request, pickup, and payment option, the service offers a real-time live location to passenger’s loved ones.

 

How to Find the Perfect Uber Clone Solution?
