…show some love, leave a tip!
Twitter recently disclosed users with a specific number of followers can access Spaces, they also hinted about its “Tip Jar” that rolls out today — a means for content creators on Twitter to earn tips from their followers. The social media company revealed this feature is limited to certain users to test its functions.
To benefit from Twitter receiving cash from your followers, this feature has to be enabled on your profile — the toggle switch is located in every selected user’s set-up profile page. Once activated, you can then cash out just like messages flowing as DMs.
Twitter integrated its cash generator feature with other e-payment platforms, including Venmo, PayPal, Bandcamp, Cashapp, and Patreon — these platforms have replaced the initial Apple App Store in-app payment option. Nonetheless, the iPhone maker is no longer entitled to the contract 30% commission charged for accessing its payment platform.
While tips are sent directly to the Twitter user, the other 30% commission will be reserved for both the social media company and these payment apps. It worth noting that only eligible users can earn tips on Twitter — go to your profile, then click “edit profile,” Tip Jar is usually off, enable it to enjoy the benefits.
Twitter’s Tip Jar reportedly rolled out before Super Follows — another means to earn cash from your followers wanting to access your Fleet, Spaces, Tweets, and other exclusive content created by you or any other Twitter users.
Tip Jar is still in its developing phase, only a finite number of users can access this feature at the moment. The unlimited version comes out soon for global use.
