Two significant subscription milestones have recently been reached by Truecaller. On Wednesday, Truecaller declared that it now had over three million active members worldwide. The additional features it added to its paid consumer service, which let consumers benefit from artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities for spam protection and call screening, are responsible for this growth. In comparison to March 31, when 0.86 million users were registered on Apple devices, the Swedish caller identification app saw a 16 percent increase on the iOS platform.
One of the most popular caller ID and spam detection services worldwide is Truecaller. The business disclosed that it recently reached two significant milestones. First, on May 17, there were more than three million paying customers worldwide, up from 2.86 million on March 31.
Second, the number of iOS users for the caller ID app increased from 0.86 million on March 31 to over one million on May 17. This corresponds to an increase of roughly 16 percent throughout the time frame. Notably, as of December 31, Truecaller has 0.82 million iOS users and 2.82 million overall, according to the business.
In a statement, Truecaller CEO Rishit Jhunjhunwala stated, “Our premium users today receive many valuable products like our AI-Assistant, advanced spam blocking opportunities, and fraud insurance, to name a few.”
Recent iOS updates and the introduction of new AI-powered capabilities are credited by the firm with this increase. Among these are fraud prevention, sophisticated spam blocking, an AI assistant, and the Live Caller ID function, which was made accessible to iOS premium subscribers in January.
The company claims that the newly added capabilities on the platform are responsible for this rise. The most recent innovation, Message IDs, uses AI to help users weed out real communications in an inbox that is getting more and more flooded with spam texts. For years, the app had been available on the iPhone as a peripheral. In order to address the annoyance of iOS users, it launched API support in January, allowing for services like automatic spam phone blocking and real-time caller identification with Live Caller ID.
Additionally, it introduced the Premium family plan, which offers a cheap monthly or annual cost and permits the onboarding of up to five individuals in a single plan. In India, this subscription also includes fraud insurance.
The launch of a family plan and enhancements to the premium offering, according to CEO Rishit Jhunjhunwala, have boosted uptake. Users can add up to four family members at a subsidized fee with the family plan.
With an emphasis on identification and security features, Truecaller keeps presenting its premium services as instruments for improved mobile communication.
