Threads, a social media site owned by Meta, just reached 320 million monthly active users. It seems sense that in an effort to increase user engagement, the corporation is launching new features everywhere. The post-scheduling capability was added to the app more recently. A new “media” tab and photo tagging features are now being added to Threads which made this the latest update and feature on the application.
You may now highlight certain portions of another user’s message on Threads whenever you republish it on the microblogging site, as Threads announce some recent updates to its social media application. One of the updates is the addition of a media category to its applications for Android and iPhone cellphones. Finally, a dedicated tab that displays user-uploaded images and videos on the user’s profile is supported by the Meta-owned microblogging network. Users may highlight certain portions of another user’s message when reposting it to their followers using a recently introduced markup tool. Similar to Instagram, Threads will also let users tag other users in their images.
Another update is the rollout of Threads Markup Features Widens, with the aim to view all of a person’s uploaded images and videos, Threads users had to navigate through their history up until this point. It was challenging to find certain posts because text-only and media-containing articles were shown together. Users will now view all posts that contain user-shared material in reverse chronological order thanks to the most recent upgrade.
Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri, announced the launch of the dedicated media tab on Threads post that the new media tab feature lets people view all of your images and videos in one location and described the functionality as “a long overdue request from the community.” Additionally, he said that while posting photographs on the network, users would now be able to tag other users. This is the same feature that Instagram offers for photo tagging. To refresh your memory, Threads’ competitors X and Bluesky have had this capability for a while. A recent program update introduced an additional tab specifically for movies, even though BlueSky’s media page only contains photographs.
Additionally, a photo tagging tool akin to Instagram is being added to Threads. The new feature on Threads allows you to tag other people before publishing a photo. Please be aware that videos cannot use the tagging feature.
Along with the newly revealed “markup” tool, the new “media” tab and photo tagging tools are being made available to Threads app users worldwide. Mosseri mentioned last week that you may “easily add your take on someone else’s post” with this technology.
After being announced earlier this month, a third feature is on the way to Threads users: a markup tool that enables users to highlight specific parts of another user’s post while sharing it on the platform. When users repost something, they can now use the new markup tool that enables them to use a virtual highlighter on specific parts of the original post.
Asides from the fact that the writer clearly states that Gadgets360 staff were able to verify the most recent iteration of Threads for iOS and Android displayed the new media tab, I will also attest to the new updates on the social media platform. There is also a new markup tool that lets users draw with a pencil, highlighter, and ‘arrow’ tool. The photo tagging feature, on the other hand, seems to still be making its way to users, and this could be happening gradually.
