Threads will now by default automatically filter out potentially objectionable words, phrases, or emojis, just like Instagram does. The new Hidden Words feature will be available on your “Following” and “For You” feeds, as well as search results, profiles, and comments on your posts, Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri said in a post.
By adjusting the setting within the app, you can add particular words, phrases, or emojis to conceal if you want to throw a wider net over the information Threads filters out. You can switch Hidden Words on and off at any time, according to Meta. Instagram launched this feature before adding the ability to filter offensive language from comments to direct messages in 2016.
Moreover, Threads is exploring the option to turn off notifications for those who interact with your posts. To enable or disable notifications, click the bell button located in the upper-right corner of a post, as depicted in the image that Meta posted. Additionally, the site is testing a feature that would allow you to control who can quote your posts. If you don’t want someone to quote your post, you can easily unquote yourself.
Similar options to filter out sensitive information and silence specific words or phrases on the platform are available on X. It also gives options for controlling who can respond to your postings.
The controls in Threads, which allow you to manage who can reply to a topic and mention you in other people’s threads, responses, or bios, are reinforced by these additional capabilities. Additionally, a new function that will enable you to automatically archive your posts and remove outdated content from your profile is being tested by the platform.
