On January 30, 2025, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, one of the most popular exclusive games for the PlayStation 5, will be available on PC. Fans are pleased to learn that the highly renowned game will soon be available on Steam and the Epic Games Store, after the announcement at New York Comic Con.
The PC version of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has finally been revealed. The updated version of the game, which was released more than a year after the PlayStation 5 version, will enable native gameplay for individuals who own gaming laptops and PCs.
According to Mike Fitzgerald, Core Technology Director at developer Insomniac, the PC port will come with the base game and all of its later DLC, such as New Game Plus mode and additional spider suits, in addition to PC-specific features like “keyboard and mouse controls, ultra widescreen support, and numerous graphical options.” Included in it will be “enhanced ray-tracing options.”
Miles Morales from Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Peter Parker from Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered will continue their adventures in the game, which will also feature the same New York City but with some new enemies and gameplay. Everything you need to know about the release, including when it will happen, is provided here.
Sony also disclosed that “we have no additional story content planned for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2” on either platform as part of the announcement.
Nixxes, which previously worked on the PC versions of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and the original Spider-Man and its Miles Morales sequel, is handling the port. The company is also responsible for the remaster of Horizon Zero Dawn, which will be released on October 31st.
Spider-Man 2 is only the most recent in Sony’s massive PC push, which also includes a PC overlay that debuted in June along with the PC version of Ghost of Tsushima. With the PC version of Spider-Man 2 released less than two years after its initial release, it is also the fastest significant PS5 game to be transferred to date.
The fact that some of the finest games I’ve played on my PC in the last several years are ports of games that were formerly unique to the PlayStation Studio can’t be a coincidence. Both the new God of War games and Ghost of Tsushima would debut on the PlayStation 5 series before arriving on the PC months or perhaps years later.
The same is true with Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which came out on October 23, 2023, around a year ago on the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Slim. The game’s story, playability, character development, and the reintroduction of Venom—a well-liked Spider-Man adversary—all won praise from critics.
