Messaging app Telegram has been upgraded with enhancements to its chat and video capabilities. In version 11.3.0, Telegram made a number of noteworthy changes that improved the user experience overall. The most recent update adds additional settings for video speed, enhances video quality, and supports quicker loading depending on the strength of the network connection. This means faster video loading, better quality, new video speed settings, message last edit timestamps, media attachment capabilities, and more developer choices are all part of these changes. Now, users may amend a sent message while adding media. The last time a message was modified within a conversation will now be shown in Telegram. Additionally, developers will get access to the platform’s additional revenue-generating alternatives.
Telegram claims that users may boost the speed of video playing by up to 2.5 times by holding down on the right side of a video and then sliding to the right after updating to the most recent version of the app. In addition to giving users on Android quicker access to the current video speed settings, this feature allows users to fast-forward or rewind by 10 seconds simply tapping on the left and right sides of the screen, respectively.
The new features introduced to the update on Telegram are;
- Faster Video Loading and Quality Control
- New Playback Speed Options
- Media Attachment in Messages
- Last Edit Timestamps for Messages
- Chat-Specific Hashtags
- Revenue Sharing for Bots
- Increased Message Limits for Bots
- Exact Reaction Counters
- Halloween Gifting
A new video feature that automatically chooses the video quality based on connection quality will help improve the playing of submitted films for owners of large channels. Channel owners may upload high-resolution movies to the platform, which will automatically optimize and compress them into three quality settings: low, medium, and high. iOS users may use picture-in-picture (PiP) mode by swiping up on a video.
With the support of your internet connection, the video player for big channel uploads now automatically chooses the best quality, saving data and speeding up video loading.
Users may now add media to a text message while editing it, even though Telegram already allows users to modify messages (or messages with media) after they have been delivered. The most recent version of the app contains a new feature that lets users touch on a message and attach a picture that would be shown in lieu of the original message.
Even while watching, users may press the gear symbol to select their chosen quality settings: High, Medium, or Low. Picture-in-Picture Mode is easier to utilize on iOS; users may just swipe up to keep watching while having conversations.
Additionally, channel owners may send high-quality footage without any pre-processing thanks to Telegram’s automated video optimization and compression. While users on high-speed networks may enjoy full definition, others with weaker connections will see more compressed films. Channels with thousands of subscribers can benefit from these improvements.
Now that Telegram has made it easier to alter the speed of video playing, users may slide right to boost the speed to 2.5x and hold the right side of the video to activate 1.5x.
The speed returns to normal when you release the contact. When you double-tap the left or right side of the video on an Android device, ten seconds are skipped ahead or backward.
The last edit time will now be shown in Telegram’s edited messages. The company claims that if a user modifies their message once more, the app will display the latest edit date. In the meanwhile, read receipts for every group member have been added to small groups; WhatsApp, Telegram’s competitor, also offers this feature.
If users forget to attach files, they may now add media to their messages by editing them. There is no need to remove and resend the message because this may be completed in only two taps. Users can also change the media in their messages or re-edit photographs.
Another feature Telegram included, is the new feature called chat-specific hashtags, which are intended to make it simpler to locate messages containing that tag within a given group or channel. The #hashtag@username format makes it easy to search for particular postings on a channel or group. For example, a user searching for #travel@adventures would view any messages sent by the Adventures channel that were tagged with food.
Telegram’s provision for highly programmable bots inside groups is one of the factors contributing to its popularity. Bot operators may now spend Telegram Stars, the platform’s digital currency that can be used for transactions, to raise the limit from the 30 messages per second that bots are permitted to send to users to 1,000 messages per second at a charge of 0.1 Stars per message.
Telegram bots may also profit from Telegram Ads, which enables users to monetize their channels. The site gives content producers half of its ad income, and under the revenue sharing scheme, bot developers may now profit from the ad service as well.
The reaction counters on posts may now be pressed and held to provide users with precise counts of certain reactions, such hearts or stars.
In celebration of Halloween, Telegram also introduced new limited gifts for users.
