With the rapid progression of scientific learning and research methodologies, the spread of technology has been everywhere in the modern education system. Technology in education has not just revolutionized the way students learn but also the way in which the professors teach. Thanks to the rapid progression of technology, the methods used in the classrooms have evolved. It has also lead to the harnessing of the effects of digital revolution in a highly constructive and positive manner. In the present times, the aim of the top educational institutes is to create a curriculum that is appreciative of the potentials of technology. This will help to make the classrooms more engaging for the students and also enable them to be better equipped when taking up IAS Coaching

The Forays Made by Technology in Education

Technology has made rapid inroads into the educational system leading to a change in the way education is perceived and imparted. The following are some of the prominent ways in which technology has influenced educational system.

Enabling distance education

Distance education has ensured that you can get any degree or training without needing to be physically present in the center. Be it a specialization or training for IAS exams, distance education has made learning accessible and approachable. No place is too remote to stay out of the folds of learning if there is access to high speed internet and the availability of a broadband connection.

Changing the face of classroom learning

Technology has made its rapid strides into the classrooms of the country. The old ways of only sticking to the books are increasingly becoming redundant. Projector screens have long replaced blackboards in most schools. In many universities and coaching centers for IAS, laptops and tablets are allowed to compile the class notes. For junior classes, animated PowerPoint presentation lets them have a better understanding of topics taught in class.

Incorporating mobile apps in learning

Today every household, regardless of whether it is urban or rural, has multiple smartphones. This has led to the progression of e-learning through mobile apps. Educational apps are widely available for apple and android platforms based on particular subjects. The apps act as an add-on to the lessons learnt in class and these help in a better understanding of the topics animations, games, puzzles, and the likes.

Adopting online learning management practices

Some of the top universities and colleges have integrated the online learning management practices in the websites. In this system, live lectures and additional course material are uploaded on the website. This makes it easy for the students to go through and understand the topics. A rapid spread of online learning management will be noticed as more and more regions of the country come under seamless internet facilities.

The world-class laboratories and computer education

The schools nowadays have dedicated computer rooms where each student gets access to advanced computer learning from a very young age. Computer education is integrated as an integral part of the learning process right from junior schools to higher education. To add to that the laboratories are equipped with world-class equipment to ensure they acquire the practical know-how to back up the theoretical knowledge.

Though technology has brought in many positive changes that has helped in the progression of educations, doubt still remains in many minds about its negative effectives. There have been many misconceptions about the role of technology in education and some of them have been discussed as under.

The Misconceptions about the Role of Technology in Education

One of the most common misconception about the role of technology is that it is rendering the long-term memory useless. The believers of this argument opines that there is less of a tendency to remember the facts as everything is just a click of a button away. Use of tablets and laptops have come under sharp criticism for taking the focus of the students away from classrooms and lectures. These distractions at an early stage of education ends up affecting them when they go ahead to sit for top competitive exams like IAS.

However, it is all a matter of proper usage and technology cannot really be blamed for these ideas. It is true that the very nature of computer and smartphone technology is addictive. But this addictive nature can be better harnessed to bring forth positive outcomes. For instance, the addictive action games of the computer can be replaced with equally addictive educational games. Such efforts go a long way in ensuring that technology helps in bettering education and not hindering it.

The Top Three Benefits Of Incorporating Technology in Education

The foremost factor that needs to be acknowledged in terms of the benefits of technology is that the students of today are already engaged and interested in its use. Thus, there is amazing opportunity presented in front of the institutes in teaching the students in a way that they are naturally responsive in. The following are the other top three benefits of incorporating technology in education.

Improvement of student engagement

Technology enables learning to be more fun and intriguing. You can think of it as teaching the same old things but in a new and improved way. For instances, things like virtual trips, gamification, and the likes keeps the young minds interested.

Providing personalization of learning

No two pupils can learn the same way and technology helps to helps to take this factor into consideration. Technology helps students to learn at their own pace thereby answering their individual needs. Internet access enables the students to get hold of a wide range of resources that they can customize according to their requirements.

Encouragement of collaboration

Students get to engage in collaborations through the multiple online educational forums and online activities. There is no boundary of state or country in sharing of knowledge and in the process leading to an improvement of the existing skillset.

Technology has come a long way in influencing education and this is just the beginning of a long process of positive transformation.
