Microsoft just took the wraps off of a host of exciting new Surface devices. The company unveiled a new Surface Pro 6 tablet, Surface Laptop 2 and Surface Studio 2 all-in-one desktop PC at a media event in New York, and surprised with its entry into the world of high-end headphones with the Surface Headphones. It also unveiled a slew of new features for Windows and Office 365.

Here’s an overview of the new products:

Surface Pro 6

Surface Pro 6 is 67 percent more powerful than the previous model, 2017’s Surface Pro, and will start at $899. The Surface Pro 6 will also start at £879 in the UK and AU$1,349 in Australia. Other specification include, the surface pro 6 has:

  • 8th-gen Intel CPU
  • 3-inch touch display
  • Up to 1TB of SSD storage
  • 5 hours of battery life
  • Weighs 1.7 pounds
  • Redesigned thermal system
    Available in black.

The Surface Laptop 2

The sells will start at $999. UK and Australia pricing wasn’t immediately available, but converts roughly to £770 and AU$1,390.

Both will be available on Oct. 16. As expected, the new models are mostly modest spec refreshes and some new colors, including matte black. Anyone looking for radical redesigns — or even the addition of USB-C — will need to wait for 2019, at least. Other features include:

  • 8th-gen Intel CPU
  • 5-inch touch display
  • “85 percent faster” than the original Surface Laptop, according to Microsoft
Alcantara palm rests (same as earlier version)
  • Now available in black
  • Support for Instant On and Windows Hello

Surface Studio 2

Last year’s Surface launch event witnessed the launch of Surface Studio — a new PC form factor. This creative-focused device aims to turn your desk into an ultimate studio.

Microsoft has called the new Surface Studio 2 the fastest Surface ever made with 50% more graphics performance. With USB-C support, built-in Xbox Wireless support, and better Surface Pen, you can enjoy a better experience.

The pre order starts Oct 2, starting at $3,499.

Surface Headphones

With everything getting leaked ahead of the launch event, Microsoft’s new Surface Headphones were a surprise for the audience.

These premium headphones are meant for delivering hand-free calling, adjustable noise cancellation, and rich audio. Cortana is also in-built for reading emails, digital assistance, conference calls, etc. It also comes with automatic pause feature that pauses movies and music on its own as soon as you remove the headphone. Surface Headphones will be available later this year with a price tag of $349.

To make owning a Surface device easier, Microsoft has launched Surface All Access. With this plan, the users can own a Surface of their choice and pay the price starting at $24.99 over 24 months. The price will increase depending on the device you plan to buy but it surely makes owning a Surface easier. You can get this feature by downloading the latest Windows 10 October 2018 Update.
