In the whole of Africa, the e-shopping TV channel happens to be the first trading platform on TV by the StarTimes broadcast company; and it is set to launch first only in three major Pan-African countries which include Nigeria, Uganda, and Kenya. The launching of the e-shopping service will cover the Pan-African countries starting with Nigeria and two other African countries as coxswain countries before branching out to other African countries.

The e-shopping TV program is a combination of different TV broadcasting companies in unison to offer its audience access to an extensive collection of high standard products, at lowered expenses shopping in the comfort of their home while watching the TV as usual. In other words, shoppers are also entitled to enjoying doorstep delivery as soon as a product is purchased.

Moreover, the availability of this platform in Africa is limited only on the StarTimes broadcasting TV channel, which is airing its trading programs with a certified Host to make shopping entertaining and to also serve as a guide to its viewers on the available products for sale, which will include sales on electronics, Tech (computer and its accessories), fashion, home accessories, and many more. This platform is exclusively on the StarTimes GO cable.

The program aims at improving the social distancing policy to curtail the spread of COVID-19, which seems to be difficult to adhere to considering how it seems to be obstructing the normal livelihoods and the lifestyle of every human, especially Africans. The StarTimes COO, Tunde Aina also noted that the platform involves the 3-tiers to shopping which includes TV shopping, Online shopping, and Phone-call shopping, to avoid physical contact.

In terms of how far the world happens to be changing at a steady pace, Africa is going through a digital TV  migration with StarTimes putting Africa on the map. StarTimes has also invested its resources,  into diverse platforms such as the StarTimes decoder (which is now developed into 2-in-1 dual decoder),  StarTime Projector TV, and StarTimes Digital Video Broadcast (it involves the DTT and DTH); which is also pro-creating another subsidiary channel “StarTimes GO”  aiming to create convenience to its subscribers making its products affordable and accessible via e-shopping on TV.

The StarTimes GO channel to air the program is stationed on “Channel 002”, while orders can be placed via the StarTimes mobile app, or via StarTimes call center; and in terms of payment, the online Plattform is highly safe securing your goods to our doorstep.
