North Korea is one of the secluded and secretive countries in the world and recently angered the entire world with its latest nuclear test. While some of its claims cannot be verified because of tight information flow control, one other thing it has managed to keep secret is its internet which is closely controlled.

But on Monday, the unexpected happened, around 10PM Pacific Time which is about 6AM in Lagos, North Korea’s name server (.kp) was somehow misconfigured thereby allowing other users around the world access .kp websites.

Those that were able to access it actually discovered that there are only 28 websites registered on the .kp domain which sort of confirms what people have suspected all the while.

The discovery was made by a researcher Matthew Bryant who has since made all the information on tis available on GitHub.

While some of them don’t open right now, some load really slowly and this means someone is now trying to correct their mistakes but knowing whom the leader of that nation is, this person might be in serious trouble.
