The world’s leading creative platform –Shutterstock has announces the launch of its AI image generation platform powered by OpenAI and Dall-E 2, which is now accessible to all Shutterstock users worldwide in all of the site’s available languages.
For so long, Shutterstock has been the go-to for transformative brands and media companies looking for images to express their brands. Shutterstock’s comprehensive collection includes high-quality licensed photographs, vectors, illustrations, 3D models, videos and music. The new text-to-image technology transforms suggestions into realistic, ethically produced images that are ready for licensing. It is the most recent addition to Shutterstock’s broad toolkit, Creative Flow, which was created with the goal of enabling the most seamless creative experience imaginable.
In a press statement, Chief Executive Officer at Shutterstock, Paul Hennessy disclosed that “over the past two years Shutterstock has developed strategic partnerships with key industry players like OpenAI, Meta, and LG AI Research to fuel their generative AI research efforts, and we are now able to uniquely bring responsibly-produced generative AI capabilities to our own customers.” Hennessy added that “Our easy-to-use generative platform will transform the way people tell their stories — you no longer have to be a design expert or have access to a creative team to create exceptional work. Our tools are built on an ethical approach and on a library of assets that represents the diverse world we live in, and we ensure that the artists whose works contributed to the development of these models are recognized and rewarded.”
By opening up the world to generative AI, where you can simply generate any images with an AI image generator by providing the correct prompt, there would be a transformation in the way visuals are produced for campaigns, projects, and businesses while maintaining ease and quality. Shutterstock thinks in order for our users to profit from this technology, they shouldn’t have to learn how to create lengthy, intricate prompts. Because of this, our image generator can turn even a single word or a few short, simple phrases into distinctive, diversified, and magnificent visuals. Additionally, we enable people all over the world to realize their creative ambitions without boundaries by providing an intuitive style picker and support for over 20 languages.
Shutterstock is the one-stop shop for all your creative needs. Users can conduct a stock search, create winning designs, and generate content all in one location. If users want to go one step further, they may refine freshly created assets with Create, our user-friendly editing tool that enables users to alter their images without being a skilled designer and integrate it with the other programs that make up Shutterstock’s Creative Flow. By bridging the gap between idea, design, and execution, users are able to produce the ideal piece of content every time. Through their current subscription, each Shutterstock customer already has access to the full set of tools.
Being the first to embrace a model that compensates artists for their contributions, Shutterstock has set the bar for ethical AI generation, making the company the go-to partner for creating and acquiring the images required to elevate your brand. Additionally, the company has considered mitigations against potential biases in some of its datasets and is constantly looking for ways to fairly represent underrepresented populations. Through its growing community of over 2 million contributors, the company is able to add hundreds of thousands of images weekly. It currently has more than 424 million images and more than 27 million video clips available on its platform.
Getty Images, one of Shutterstock’s primary rivals, has stated that it has no immediate plans to enter the murky world of AI. AI-generated photographs were not allowed on the platform. In an interview, the CEO of Getty Images, Craig Peters, stated, “I think that’s dangerous. It isn’t responsible, in my opinion. I believe it might be illegal.” Getty Photos is currently in a lawsuit against Stability AI, the company behind Stable Diffusion, another generative AI service, for using Getty’s images without its consent to train its AI.
The AI image generator, and the rest of the company’s capabilities that are ready to turn ideas into visuals, can be found on shutterstock.com.
