Samsung Announces The 6.4″ Galaxy S23 FE, 10″ Tab S9 FE And Earbuds FE

Samsung’s FE series makes a triumphant return, this time with an enticing twist: the inclusion of Galaxy Buds. The Galaxy S23 FE, true to the “value flagship” concept, offers the expected top-tier specs at a refreshingly sensible price of $599. This marks a significant drop from the $699 price tag of its predecessor, the S21 FE.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy Tab S9 FE steps onto the scene with sturdy water and dust resistance, setting you back just $449, a far cry from the standard S9’s starting price of $799. However, it’s important to note that in the quest for affordability, the Tab S9 FE opts for an LCD panel, trading the OLED glory. And if you’re looking to dip your toes into the world of active noise-cancellation earbuds without diving into the deep end, the Galaxy Buds FE presents a fantastic option at just $99.

Samsung has heeded the past and rectified the pricing blunder of the S21 FE, offering a value-packed device that doesn’t compete directly with its flagship sibling, the S23. The S23 FE doesn’t skimp on features, maintaining a 6.4-inch 120Hz OLED display, complete with a full IP68 rating for water and dust resistance – a luxury not always found in the midrange Galaxy A-series devices.

Yet, there’s a delightful twist to this year’s FE lineup – fun and vibrant colours. The S23 FE is available in an array of eye-catching hues, including mint, cream, graphite, and purple. Opt for a purchase via Samsung’s website, and you’ll even discover indigo and tangerine options to suit your style.

Under the hood, the S23 FE boasts 8GB of RAM, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. While it may not be the absolute latest, it still outshines typical midrange devices. The inclusion of wireless charging and an 8-megapixel telephoto camera, in addition to the 50-megapixel primary and 12-megapixel ultrawide cameras, elevates the photography experience beyond what’s expected in its class.

The Galaxy Buds FE, with a design reminiscent of the Galaxy Buds Plus, provide up to six hours of playback with active noise cancellation. With an IPX2 rating, they can endure light water exposure, though they’re not meant for torrential downpours or underwater adventures. While wireless charging is absent, you’ll find an elegant simplicity in classic colours – graphite and white.

The Tab S9 FE lineup offers options in display size: 10.9 inches and 12.4 inches. These tablets favor LCD panels and a 90Hz refresh rate, a slight departure from their OLED-equipped siblings. The FE versions opt for the Exynos 1380 chipset, distinct from the regular S9’s Qualcomm processor. Nonetheless, they both generously include an S Pen stylus in the box and maintain the coveted IP68 ratings. For those who appreciate variety, you can choose from an array of colours, including grey, mint, silver, and lavender.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE goes on sale starting October 26th, boasting 128GB of storage. As for the Galaxy Buds FE, Galaxy Tab S9 FE, and S9 FE Plus, you can grab them from select carriers beginning October 5th, with Samsung’s website sales kicking off on October 10th. Samsung has certainly reinvigorated its FE series, ensuring that value doesn’t compromise fun or performance.
