YouTube gets a dark theme
YouTube is adding a dark theme to its mobile app, beginning with iOS today. To use the new feature, essentially tap the on the account icon, go to settings, select “dark theme,” and that’s it.
YouTube already added the feature to its desktop site a year ago, and the organisation says from that point forward, it’s turned out to be a standout amongst the most asked for feature on its app. As the name infers, the new theme addition rearranges a few colours on YouTube interface, swapping out the white background.
To use it on desktop though, you have to do some developer mode tweaking but no one wants to go through that on mobile.
The new feature rolls out to iOS user today with Android to come soon. You may not see the dark theme right away but it should be rolling out gradually throughout the day to users on iOS. If your iPhone is not set to automatically update apps, then you may have to update your app manually to see the new dark theme
