ITRI Introduces innovations in AI, robotics, and ICT at CES 2022

ITRI, a winner of the CES 2022 Innovation Awards, has introduced the RGB-D AI Robot. This AI innovation which is the world’s first collaborative robot has a built-in 3D vision. On a robotic arm, the clever 3D vision sensing technology acts as a pair of human eyes. When the RGB-D AI Robot is compared to other robots, it reduces the size of the sensor by 168 times while boosting the sensing speed by 38.6 times. According to an online source, the clever 3D vision sensing technology has the ability to automatically scan the object area in three dimensions and provide immediate and coordinated support to the robotic arm as it identifies the proper angle where objects are picked up based on the positioning and shape of the object. The manufacturing and transportation industries have been identified as industries that have the potential to use the RGB-D AI Robot to practice sorting and packing of products for smart automation, while it also has potential use in retail or service businesses and healthcare to serve customers directly.
