Social Audio-only app, Clubhouse has announced to its teeming users a new feature that has been eagerly anticipated for a while now: ‘In-app Recording’
The feature known as ‘replay’ will offer the users the opportunity to record a chat room, save it in their profile and app club or even have it downloaded into other devices.
The Verge while laying down the ground rules require for the new feature added that “creators and moderators are the ones who can record, and they can toggle that option on or off. Rooms must be public to be recorded.”
Apart from having the leverage of enjoying full recordings of the chat, there will be an option for users to create clips of up to 30 seconds that can be shared in numbers of specified chat rooms that gives it pass. They can also be able to search for specific names or topic and then receiving the chat rooms, the users or clubs that could fit in the criteria for joining.
Android users are not left out from this new feature as they will also this month benefit from the new update. Spatial audio is also being added to the Android operating system, with Apple users already having the opportunity of earlier in August testing the feature.
There are host of benefits for the new feature with The Verge in its report explaining that “The clips tool might draw more people in and bring them to the app to hear the rest of an ongoing conversation. In-app search should also solve some of that as people hunt for rooms that might interest them, rather than relying on the algorithm to promote them.”
The Paul Davison and Rohan Seth founded Clubhouse app has in recent times been updating its database with new features, affording its users the glitz and glamour of social chatting via voice. This also places the app as a competitive social audio platform up against tech giants like Twitter that recently introduced the ‘Twitter Spaces’ feature that allows chat recordings.
Podcasts recording and audio online content can be said to be the new communicating method, with the ability to edit the audio immediately after a chat in order to later share it.
Founded in the year 2019 by Paul Davison and Rohan Seth, with the former standing in as the CEO, the Clubhouse app is said to have an estimated 3.5 million downloads worldwide just few months after startup and grew exponentially to a whooping 8.1 million downloads by February 2021, after popular tech faces, Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg made appearances on the app.
