IMDb TV app is now available for distribution via digital services like Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store. IMDb offers free streaming services owned by Amazon — it has operated as a standalone streaming app accessible to every OS platform including iOS, Android, and Desktops users.
Amazon’s entertainment hub avails its movie and series content for its global users, while IMDb has no charge attached for streaming on its TV. The ad-supported streaming platform can be accessed either by the IMDb TV app or its dedicated streaming website,
Remember, the IMDb TV app has been existing without support from either Google or Apple platform. At the time, Amazon’s streaming app operated as an independent app without disrupting its media library or its ads network.
IMDb TV app is expected to increase streaming views with an unmatched user experience. Still, it is worth noting that IMDb’s content remains unchanged — the media library on the website will give you the same experience streaming visuals via the TV app.
Overtime, IMDb TV has supported several visual contents to be available on its streaming hub, especially movies produced in its in-house Amazon Studio. The free streaming service will also prioritize content produced by other media Studios including Peacock and Universal.
Peacock offers an ephemeral pay-one premiere on newly released theatre movies. While Universal studios demand IMDb to rate its movies as exclusive content whereby all Universal’s genres such as sci-fi, drama, action, comedy, etc. will feature on IMDb TV.
Despite IMDb’s free streaming services, the Amazon subsidiary has accounted for quite an impressive financial performance supported by its ads network. In contrast with other streaming services that includes premium subscription, IMDb has a manageable slate — although Amazon Prime studio is expected to yield more profits.
These new improvements on IMDb’s ad-supported TV services are expected to upgrade its media library. If you don’t mind the playback of your movies streaming simultaneously with ads, then you will experience free streaming on all available genres in IMDb’s movie lineup.
Techbooky suggests IMDb’s TV app has futuristic plans of enabling premium service — the idea behind this concept will restrict ads for a price, while the free streaming will be dedicated for IMDb’s website or free users.
Meanwhile, Amazon has gone further to enable its Prime video to feature IMDb as a free channel. While other streaming gadgets will also feature Amazon’s free TV app on their respective platforms including, Android TV, Roku, LG smart TV, Google TV, Xbox, and Fire TV.
