Google's first smartwatch may be coming in 2022

Google’s hardware team has got users looking forward to something. Over the past few years, the hardware team has continued to push steadily to expand the company’s reach with new and remarkable innovations. With revelations of innovation in the realms of earbuds, smart homes, phones, and even zippy notebooks, its ambitions continue to grow in leaps and bounds. According to reports, Google is taking a dive into adding a smartwatch into its smart device collection, with plans to launch by the New Year.

Until now Google’s primary focus had always been on the software side of smartwatches. Google has recorded involvement with the developing tech like Wear OS and giving third-party watchmakers the ability to build their hardware around it.  In a matter of time though, Google may as well be in competition with the very wearable makers such as Samsung it has supported and had great partnerships with for so many years.

Regardless of its support for Wear OS, Google has reportedly gone forward to give its device a codenamed “Rohan” internally, report say that probably won’t be its final moniker. Speculations are most likely that the new device may get names like “Pixel Watch” or “Pixel Wear” when it starts to ship, conventional names Google has employed to date.

As for the smart device’s design, news sources say that it’s most likely the watch face turns out to be round and perhaps even bezel-free. For now, it’s quite difficult to tell what design the smartwatch would come out like in practice as well as the watch’s durability. Many smartwatches with Apple Watch as a notable exception have shipped with round faces, so we will not be exactly surprised by the shape the Google smartwatches come out as.

However, according to a designed document spotted by Business Insider, Google’s aims to develop a smartwatch that drives comfortable to at least “90% of the population,” This comfortability issue is so important to Google because it strongly feels that there is an “insufficient sizing” issue which excludes some users from using the  ”wearable entirely.” A smartwatch user with a large wrist ultimately agrees with Google wholeheartedly. The user explains how he has tried to wear older Fitbit models in the past while complaining of they were always a little too tight or simply weren’t shaped well for my proportions has emerged.

In terms of functionality, reports say that the smartwatch will present health and fitness tracking features like we have seen in most smartwatches by Google’s soon-to-be competitors. Although reports say Employees have reportedly been allowed to test the device to determine pain points and potential areas the tech giants need to improve. However, two major strains continue to emerge. These two strains are the watch’s slow rate of charging and its need to constantly charge. Given the importance of how long battery life is for smart devices especially smartwatches, it would come as a great shock and surprise if the device ships in that state. It’s believed that Google would find lasting solutions to these issues will likely be resolved before the Pixel Watch or smartwatches would be released to the public in 2022.
