Just last month, Google as we used to know it ceased to exist. It was announced that a new company called Alphabet would act as umbrella body for all services and products. That meant that the Google search and other related services would have a new leadership and so just weeks after that change, Google has announced that it now has a new logo. If you’ve been on the internet since yesterday, you may have noticed this change. “As you’ll see, we’ve taken the Google logo and branding, which were originally built for a single desktop browser page, and updated them for a world of seamless computing across an endless number of devices and different kinds of inputs (such as tap, type and talk).
It doesn’t simply tell you that you’re using Google, but also shows you how Google is working for you. For example, new elements like a colorful Google mic help you identify and interact with Google whether you’re talking, tapping or typing. Meanwhile, we’re bidding adieu to the little blue “g” icon and replacing it with a four-color “G” that matches the logo.” said Tamar Yehoshua who is the VP, Product Management at Google.
This means that the static figure you used to know is gone and has been replaced with an animated figure which reacts to inputs as you can see in the attached video above. For example, when you voice search, the logo will change into dots which act like an equaliser and when you’re done talking, these waves become dots again. Once you have a display of results, the logo becomes static again.
