Tesla CEO and world richest man, Elon Musk is set to consolidate his hold on microblogging platform, Twitter as he mulls up the plan to convert the San Francisco headquarters of the social media company to a shelter home for the homeless, with few people working there during the pandemic outbreak.
It now appears another billionaire is latching on the idea as Amazon.com Inc founder, Jeff Bezos and second world richest man has backed the idea, effectively connoting that the tow billionaires on the Forbes list echelon will be jointly pitching in ideas to tackle the homelessness issue.
Musk with his 9.2 percent in Twitter, became the largest shareholder of the Jack Dorsey founded platform and has since then been rooting for changes in the social giant. He had already led a crusade for the infusion of an edit button, a suggestion Twitter is seriously considering.
With his more than 81 million Twitter followers, Elon Musk had on Saturday initiated a poll, asking users to vote Yes or No to the conversion of the building to a homeless shelter. In less than 24 hours, the poll garnered over a million votes, with 90 percent saying Yes to the proposal.
Musk known for his cruise-tweets and banters on the social network, some sensitive and others brute, has been known to leave people confused on the seriousness of his Tweets but this time around, Musk clarified that he meant it and was not joking. “I’m serious about this one btw,” he tweeted, following up on the topic on Sunday.

The Amazon.com founder had also suggested the conversion of at least a portion of Twitter’s headquarters, if not all of it, into a homeless shelter, a suggestion Musk agreed with in another tweet, calling it a “Great idea.”
Musk in another separate poll on Sunday had asked Tweeps if the ‘w’ from Twitter’s name be deleted with two voting options of ‘Yes’ and ‘Of Course’ available.
Ever since he became the largest shareholder of the Twitter, Elon Musk had suggested a series of changes to the Twitter Blue premium subscription service and this included the reduction of its price, banning advertising and giving an option to pay in the cryptocurrency dogecoin.
