Mark Zuckerberg who is the CEO/Founder of the world’s biggest social media platform said Facebook would introduce a “Dislike2 button to its network. This was said in Q&A session at Facebook’s headquarters in Menlo park, California. Frankly speaking, in a community that has about 50% of the world’s internet users, such a button is needed. Facebook has recorded a huge success in other services it introduced beyond the ones it launched with. Mark Zuckerberg confirmed that they were close to having it ready for testing.
It’s been a long time coming. Some Facebook users started demanding for this as early as 2009. “Probably hundreds of people have asked about this, and today is a special day because today is the day that I actually get to say we are working on it, and are very close to shipping a test of it” said Mr. Zuckerberg .
YouTube has a thumbs down feature as well and since Facebook is now a major competitor in the video streaming business with over 4 billion views recorded by May 2015 , it just makes sense that such a feature would be afforded Facebook users as well. This coming now is kind of like Twitter not having an “Edit” button which has even made celebs like Kim Kardashian to directly demand for one.
