The highly-anticipated audio-chatting; Clubhouse platform is now available for Android users in Nigeria after months of announcing that an Android version of the app was in the works.
Earlier this month, in a Town Hall meeting, Clubhouse’s CEO and Co-founder; Paul Davison, said that “Clubhouse will soon be available for Android users” globally. A beta testing phase followed almost immediately after the company announced that it was going to start testing the Android beta version of the app in a weekly Town Hall meeting. The company revealed that the testing stage would allow them to gather information about users’ experiences and fix whatsoever problem that comes up.
Not too long after the testing phase which was for a secluded group of people started, the company rolled out its official Android app in the U.S. and promised that the app would be available for Android users everywhere in the world soon. “Today, we are thrilled to share that Clubhouse for Android will start rolling out in beta immediately. We will begin gradually, with the US today, followed by other English-speaking countries and then the rest of the world”, the company, while announcing the launch of its Android app in the U.S. announced in a blog post.
Clubhouse started its global rollout of the app this week with countries like India and Russia and promised that the app will be available in countries like countries on Friday morning before it gets to the rest of the world.
The Clubhouse app has been confirmed available for download by Nigerians on Google Play Store. Nigerians with Android devices can therefore join in the fun of audio-chatting with groups of people.
Clubhouse became available about thirteen months ago and since then it has risen to become one of the top social media platforms available. Many other platforms have developed their clones of the apps, adding the audio-chat feature to their platforms. Although Clubhouse is now available to almost everyone in the world, there are still people who think that the Android app is coming late and that they can access the same audio-chat service on other platforms, so why join Clubhouse at all?
