Netflix Adds Multilingual Audio Support for All TV Series and Films

Millions of individuals from many nations across the world have viewed some of the greatest Netflix films and series in recent years.

Consider Korea’s Squid Game, France’s Lupin, or Spain’s Berlin. Additionally, as Netflix continues to expand its multilingual capabilities, a growing number of users may now enjoy shows from across the globe in their native tongues.

Currently available in over 30 languages, Netflix’s TV app lets users choose which language to use for audio and subtitles when streaming content on PCs, smart TVs, and mobile devices thanks to Netflix’s recent improvements to its audio and subtitle features. According to Netflix, this is a reaction to the “thousands of language requests” that its users submit each month. The streaming service has also announced that the Netflix app for TV now lets users choose from all available languages when watching content across its library.

It’s worth noting that Netflix users could already choose from all available languages on mobile devices or when viewing content via a web browser. The company announced the arrival of multilingual audio support on the Netflix TV app in a post on its website, while claiming to receive thousands of language availability requests each month.

Netflix wants to highlight the extra elements it provides that can aid in language acquisition because it is aware that many of you use its foreign-language movies for that purpose.

Another step toward putting the watching experience on level with other platforms is the most recent upgrade to the Netflix app for TVs. For instance, you may now change the size and style of subtitles to make them easier to read. There are still certain features that are exclusive to specific systems. For instance, the “Browse by Language” function is available in the Netflix PC app. Another option is to view a program that has audio dubbing in one language and subtitles in another.

According to Netflix, about one-third of all videos seen on the service are non-English material. There are now a number of films and TV series accessible on the site, with content available in more than 30 languages.

In particular, Netflix has been making significant and welcome investments in international films and television series, of which include well-known programs that are filmed in Spanish, Korean, and German, respectively, such as Berlin, Squid Game, and All Quiet on the Western Front. English and other regional languages, non-English language series,  including Money Heist, Lupin, La Palma, Who Killed Sara?, and others, which have also been huge hits are also available for these titles.

Naturally, the language features also work the other way, allowing Netflix’s enormous worldwide audience to watch English-language films and television series.

The most recent iterations of Netflix for Android TV and tvOS did not support multilingual audio at the time of publishing. Users in India may now choose between the native language, English, Hindi, and a few regional languages on the app. In the future, it may even be activated with a server-side switch, or it may be gradually rolled out to consumers.

As a result, you will be able to choose from the entire list of languages available for any title when watching Netflix on your TV as of right now. This eagerly awaited feature (we receive thousands of requests each month for language availability) builds on the experience that members already have on mobile devices and web browsers.

Because Netflix offers so many languages, we also frequently hear that our users utilize it to study a new language. Therefore, we provide a number of extra tools to aid in language acquisition, such as the option to personalise subtitles and the PC computer’s Browse by Language function. These useful elements benefit individuals that are bilingual while improving the accessibility of our television programs and films.

Therefore, the Netflix TV experience has become much more multilingual, whether you’re attempting to learn a new language by watching your favourite Mexican drama with Korean dubbing and English subtitles or enjoying the newest Netflix discovery with bilingual family members.

Recently, the platform added support for HDR10+ streaming on TVs and streaming devices with AV1 capabilities. HDR10+ video, which delivers better dynamic range and visual quality than HDR10 content, is available to Netflix subscribers who have the most costly plan.
