MTN Group is eager to transform its telecom network into a versatile infrastructural hub dedicated to bringing wholesale fibre deals to businesses serving the Kenyan population. MTN GlobalConnect has reportedly acquired MTN Business with the sole priority of developing its fibre technology resources to accommodate Kenyan wholesalers in the MTN digital hub.

The MTN Group confirmed its sole intention of transforming the real-time business to be accessible to the digital market that trends with expected fibre-optic benefits. According to MTN Group, the digital world serves as a means of swift innovation for regular businesses. MTN Group’s consent to debuting the infrastructural expansion also reshape the pan African economy via MTN GlobalConnect.

The digital ecosystem has been evolving the Kenyan market for the last fifteen years whereby east Africa has experienced economic growth. This is a significant move where the Kenyan market is the start point of developing the Pan African economy via MTN GlobalConnect fibre optic hub.

Nonetheless, MTN will continue to serve its customers while transforming the digital tech space accessible to businesses to connect to wholesale deals as well as utilizing MTN’s infrastructural hub. MTN GlobalConnect CEO Frédéric Schepens affirmed the Kenyan digital market is conducive to reshaping business into a digital phenomenon in line with the mild regulatory policies the Kenyan government has sketched suitably for information and communication technologies, and digital services.

“We have prioritized the Republic of Kenya to form part of our fibre rollout owing to its strategic location in the East African Community bordering five countries, its access to the 2Africa subsea cable at Port Mombasa, and that doing business in Kenya furthers our belief that everyone deserves the benefits of a modern connected life,” Schepens said.

MTN GlobalConnect is responsive to the ICT system and installation of fibre technology to actualize reshaping the Kenyan business ecosystem into a digital hub. Reshaping the Kenyan market with a fibre-optic network that will enhance the MTN’s broadband connectivity and influence the African digital market with Gen-Z technology

Schepens said MTN GlobalConnect in Kenya is as ideal as expanding its fibre infrastructure to the Western African market. MTN Group’s investment in Kenya is expected to spread through every country in Africa to meet MTN targets to develop Africa into a digital hub powered by fibre-optic subsea cables.
