Microsoft has announced the launch of Office 2021. The tech company made it known that the collection of Microsoft apps would be made available for Windows and Mac users before the year comes to an end. According to the tech Giant, the version is very convenient and suits the needs of those who do not desire to use the cloud version of the Microsoft Office 365.

The company also revealed that it has plans to release Office 2021 for small businesses and personal users before the end of the year. “Office 2021 will also be supported for five years with the traditional ‘one-time purchase’ model. We do not plan to change the price for these products at the time of the release. We will announce more details about new features included in 2021 closer to general availability”, the tech company announced.

The company revealed that both Office LTSC (Long Term Servicing Channel) and Windows 10 LTSC would be taken care of under its Fixed Lifecycle Policy and will be supported for five years.

Office LTSC without access to cloud service, will include only a small variation of the value received from Microsoft 365 Apps. The new Office LTSC features will see improvements from the past versions. The new Office LTSC will come with capabilities like Dynamic Arrays and XLOOKUP in Excel, performance improvements across Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, accessibility improvements and dark mode support across multiple apps.

Apart from these expected new features and improvements, Microsoft also mentioned that the incoming update for Office will not have the Skype for business client app, rather it would be available on the Microsoft Download Centre as a separate download.

The tech company experienced an increase in its number of users during the coronavirus pandemic. In November 2019, it had around 20 million users and this more than doubled in March 2020 to 44 million users and grew to 75 million users by April. Currently over 500,000 organizations use Microsoft Teams as their default messaging platform.

The Microsoft Office 2021 is quite anticipated because of the new and seemingly brilliant features it promises to come with.
