Learn about the three new Meta AI capabilities for WhatsApp that will allow users to interact with AI seamlessly.

WhatsApp has seen significant transformation in recent years. We’ve seen it expand from a simple instant chat software to one powered by artificial intelligence (AI). In 2024, WhatsApp released some ground-breaking features and updates, one of which was Meta AI integration, which has revolutionized how we communicate on the network using AI. Now, as we approach 2025, the business has planned some new Meta AI capabilities for WhatsApp that may improve the user experience. Learn about the three anticipated Meta AI capabilities coming to WhatsApp in the future.

WhatsApp has come a long way since it began as a simple messaging software. Today, it has a plethora of functions that have made it an indispensable communication tool for billions of users worldwide. And it appears that WhatsApp is not done changing just yet. Meta, WhatsApp’s parent company, has announced the incorporation of numerous planned Meta AI features that are expected to alter the way we communicate.

The New and Upcoming Meta AI features for WhatsApp Include;

  1. Meta AI shortcut: WhatsApp is apparently working on adding a quick access button for the Meta AI chatbot in the instant messaging service. This shortcut button will allow users to instantly contact the Meta AI chatbot to answer questions, make suggestions, and more. The Meta AI shortcut button will now be located on the Chats tab rather than on top of the navigation bar. This placement is intended to increase the exposure of the function and offer users with simple access. The Meta AI shortcut is now being tested for iOS, and it may soon be available to the public.
  2. Forward messages to Meta AI: With these new features, users may now forward messages to Meta AI to obtain more context for the text. Users can send Meta AI any type of media or message, as well as copy and paste text. Users can also keep an eye out for scam or spam messages by making suggestions or verifying the information in the message. The feature is now being developed for Android users and is expected to be available in the next few weeks.
  3. Meta AI Chat Memory: This is another developing feature that allows the AI chatbot to remember details about the user, such as conversation style, birthday, preferences, and more. This allows the chatbot to offer a more customized answer to the user. Users will also be able to issue Meta AI commands such as “remember this” and specify the information they want the AI to remember.

Please keep in mind that all of these capabilities will not be available in WhatsApp until future app versions. So, keep an eye out for the most recent upgrades and additions.
