You (individual or brand) can now broadcast to your Twitter audience using the Periscope app. This was announced in a tweet by Twitter yesterday. The Live button is now available to everyone from within the Twitter app itself which would eventually redirect you to either install Periscope or to the app if you already have it. It is available to iOS and Android users.
Periscope is Twitters live streaming service and it went live in March 2015 and since then users have generated 200 million broadcasts and watch 110 years of live stream on Periscope daily. Live streaming is the new feature that has got users glued to social media platforms like Facebook where you are likely to see a live event each time you refresh. Organisations have taken advantage of this feature to connect more with customers and fans. YouTube and Amazon’s Twitch all have live stream features and they all had it before Facebook whose Facebook Live feature launched earlier this year.
