The Xiaomi Mi 9T / Redmi K20, Xiaomi POCO X3 NFC, Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 Pro, Motorola Moto G5 Plus, and Google Pixel 3A XL are now supported.
Today saw the introduction of postmarketOS 25.06, the most recent iteration of this Linux-based mobile operating system, which includes updated components, new functionality, and compatibility for new devices.
PostmarketOS 25.06, which is based on Alpine Linux 3.22, has a new os-installer user interface (UI) to make installing postmarketOS from a computer more simple. It also supports the systemd init system, the GNOME 48, KDE Plasma Mobile 6.3.5, Phosh 0.47.0, and Sxmo 1.17.1 graphical interfaces.
Along with initial camera support for the OnePlus 6, Motorola Moto E5 Plus, Motorola Moto G5s, Xiaomi Redmi 3S, Xiaomi Redmi 4 Standard, and Xiaomi Redmi 4A phones, this release also includes mobile-config-thunderbird, which makes Mozilla Thunderbird a mobile-friendly app, and support for MSM89x7 devices for audio and charging.
The Google Pixel 3A XL, Motorola Moto G5 Plus, Xiaomi Redmi 7, Xiaomi Mi 9T, Xiaomi Redmi K20, Xiaomi POCO X3 NFC, and Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 Pro are among the new devices that are supported by the postmarketOS 25.06 version.
Among other notable modifications, the openssh-client package has been removed, multiple new wallpapers have been added, the device ports with downstream kernels have been divided into their own category, and the mobile-config-firefox package has been upgraded with per-site user-agent spoofing to force sites to use their mobile version.
We have developed binary packages for devices in the testing and community categories (both currently only have ports that are close to the mainline), but not for devices in the downstream category because those are typically not very helpful. Feel free to submit a merge request that backports the current version from edge if you require a certain downstream kernel in v25.06, the developers noted.
To learn more about the changes in postmarketOS 25.06, which you can download from the official website for your device, see the release announcement page. To upgrade their installations to a more recent version of postmarketOS, current customers running postmarketOS 24.12 should consult the official wiki.
