LG will unveil Urban (its smartwatch which is a successor to its (LG G watch R) at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) next month which is a month before the official launch of the Apple watch. This move is seen as trying to draw some of the wearable fuss to itself by LG.
Revenue plays a big role as well. It is estimated that by 2020, the smartwatch market will be worth nearly $33b with an annual growth rate of 67.6% according to CNBC. This is a huge space for players but as it stands now, the Apple watch is still the most anticipated.
