LG launches “urban” smart watch to compete with Apple watch

LG has unveiled it luxury smartwatch. This in light of the much anticipate Apple watch which is expected to be launched sometime this Spring.

What does this mean for the Apple watch launch in April?

LG will unveil Urban (its smartwatch which is a successor to its (LG G watch R) at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) next month which is a month before the official launch of the Apple watch. This move is seen as trying to draw some of the wearable fuss to itself by LG.

Revenue plays a big role as well. It is estimated that by 2020, the smartwatch market will be worth nearly $33b with an annual growth rate of 67.6% according to CNBC. This is a huge space for players but as it stands now, the Apple watch is still the most anticipated.

The All-metal luxury watch comes in diffeerent colours and shades to match fashion needs. This has become a trend from Google to Apple as technology meet fashion.
