Ever heard of Leofied? Here is a chance to learn about the exciting thing Leofied is all about. Firstly, Leofied is an online community that helps to connect consumers and businesses to freelance service professionals who deliver speedily. The Leofied community has over 6 million quality freelancers globally to choose from. You can find skills ranging in the following categories include writing, translation, programming, tech, digital media, graphic design, music and audio, video and animation and so on. Since its inception, the online community has proven to be a great place for employers to derive value as they get skilled hands to handle their projects. It has also been a great place for freelancers to land well-paying gigs. It is such an ecosystem of shared value and productivity.

According to Jonathan Omonigho, CEO at Leofied, three factors influenced his decision for creating Leofied, these are unemployment, under-employment, and the state of the nation generally. Omonigho says “With the rate of unemployment and inflation in the country, a lot of people are finding it difficult to cope with the remuneration from one job. (That’s even the ones that have jobs) Leofied was borne out of the sheer need to aid people to get a major and another source(s) of income from the comfort of their homes.”

Earlier in February 2022, Statista predicted that Nigeria’s unemployment rate will shoot at about 33 per cent. A stat like this are factors that continue to remind us that platforms such as this remain vital to the nation. A few competing platforms  Leofied have had to battle with in getting a market share are Upwork, Fiverr and Terawork. Daily freelancers target any of these platforms to derive the best value. In other to stay above the competition one of Leofied’s catch is the 10% fee capped on every gig, one of many lowest and best charges within the freelance market.

Leofed is an online community that connects consumers and businesses to freelance service professionals

“We offer jobs and gigs to the freelancers often. We additionally boast of one of the many lowest fee charges. We cap our fee at 10% relying on the gigs. Our platform can also be straightforward to navigate and we deal with every shopper effectively,” Omonigho says. Leofied is set to woo as many African freelancers with its low commissions and accessibility to all.

In a bid to maintain its presence and impression within the Nigerian and African freelance markets, Leofied revealed how its constantly engaging with high-end employers, small companies and reward platforms on partnerships that benefit the expert freelancers. Omonigbo says “We’re in partnership with each high-end employer and small companies who want expert freelancers to perform. We’ve additionally partnered with reward platforms similar to EKOTOKEN to reward and encourage freelancers on our platform. We’re at present in talks with the federal government as effectively on finding out how to create extra sustainable job alternatives for the populace.”

In the interview with technext, Omonigho further shares some of his early experiences with solving problems in his Nigerian home, which eventually brought him closer to creating a platform that has impacted so many today. As a child growing up in a Nigerian home placed some responsibilities on his younger self. He took on each task he was tossed with delight, while constantly adopting simpler ways to get them done.

On his inclination to tech and solving problems, Omonigbo says “I have always been tech-inclined even from a tender age. Not only was I the handyman around the house, I always looked for simple methods to complete tasks.” His first stop in his tech journey was at a small hub where people would come in to purchase mobile phones and other gadgets at affordable prices. He later moved on to create an online cryptocurrency portal, this platform made it easy for anyone to trade coins and gift cards. From the experiences, he gained helping people purchase phones and gadgets at an affordable price to enabling crypto trading with ease and where he is at today, the CEO says he’s learnt to work twice as hard in order to create solutions that help Africa and Africans become better.

Omonigho added that “The most important thing I have learned and keep learning is that the world is evolving and everything moves very fast. Sadly, Nigeria and a lot of third-world countries seem to be moving in the opposite direction and lagging behind their contemporaries. So as a tech-inclined person, I know I have to work twice as hard to create innovations that are suitable for the clime.” For Omonigho, the brightest moment in his tech journey so far is his creation of the Leofied platform.

On the question of the biggest challenges for the business so far, Omonigho hinted that this comes from freelancers. He says “The most prominent challenge is that of patience and honesty. People want to get rich overnight and in the process, some freelancers try to be dishonest and greedy.” Noting this challenge, the CEO revealed that Leofied is equipped with an internal process that helps “checkmate this.”  Looking to land gigs on the Leofied platform as a freelancer, you’ll be requires t first register and then log in to find a job, as an employer or business, you’ll be required to register and then log in, to post jobs or find talents.
