The KickassTorrents community was thrown into some kind of mourning back in July when it was reported that 30 year old Founder Artem Vaulin a.k.a tirm was arrested in Poland for copyright violations. That also meant that sites he ran with regards to the charges had to shut down and that’s how KickassTorrents (KAT) had to shut down. But now it looks like the site is back up and running.
Once the site shut down, a group of KAT staff launched a similar site Katcr.co and now they have launched it and it looks just like what we used to know. Even the logo of the new site says KickassTorrents team and that tells you that the site was brought back to life by dedicated staffers of the shutdown site.
The new site is located at katcr.co/new and since its launch, it has been experiencing some really high traffic. Users have reported that the site has been loading slowly but be patient because eventually it will open.
They have a new database but same old staff which means you may be getting the same experience of the past.
KATcr team told TorrentFreak that “The majority of our original Staff, Admins and Moderation team joined us after Kat.cr went down – which is something we’re very proud of. This shows the loyalty, dedication and real love for KAT that we all share,”
