Instagram Rolls Out New Tool To Allow Users Block Unwanted Comments

With reports of social media harassments and bullying that have plagued many, social media sites have all taken steps to give victims power to block such people. Instagram which now has over 500 million users came out with an announcement from co-founder Kevin Systrom which you can see below;

The idea according to Mr Systrom is create a safe environment for environment for everyone on Instagram and one of the ways to achieve this is to allow users now hide comments they deem inappropriate. The announcements also says comments from followers will now come first before others regardless of when they were posted apparently.

In addition to hiding comments, they can also be deleted. You can also report such to the social media company and have them blocked eventually.

All you have to do is click on the gear icon in your profile and slide the comments tool to turn it on or off.
