Apple Says iMessage on Android ‘Will Hurt Us More Than Help Us’

…Apple reveals its iMessage services on other OS platforms is likely to tarnish their status quo in the industry.

Apple products are incomparable to rivals in the industry because the iPhone maker built every component of its company except semiconductor technology that is supplied by third parties. Focusing on iMessage, its blue conversation bubbles is quite remarkable, user’s switching to Android can relate to this feature or texting service.

The complex characteristics associated with iOS serve as the barrier between Android OS and other platforms — explaining why Apple’s texting app cannot feature on Google’s operating system.

This fact was revealed during the court filing with Epic games from emails and depositions Apple employees provided (especially their high-ranked staff) as a cover-up chasing a legal case that was contradicted by Epic games.

Meanwhile, Apple appears to be a monopoly entity serving its customers with a universal strategy, while Epic believes otherwise. Overtime, the iPhone maker has retained its customers introducing diverse products tied as a brand — the iMessage amongst other of its services depicts a perfect instance Apple stylishly practice a monopoly business.

Epic highlighted the conversations and comments that transpired between Apple’s employees and top-level staffs, including Craig Federighi (Apple’s senior vice president of software engineering), Phil Schiller (Apple’s Fellow), and Eddie Cue (Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services) while others remained anonymous — epic backed up their arguments with these individuals’ representing the iPhone maker.

Recovered conversation via emails since 2016 (the individual’s name who sent the mail is not mentioned for certain reasons). He noted that “the Apple universe app is iMessage … iMessage amounts to serious lock-in.” In response to this, Phil Schiller said; “moving iMessage to Android will hurt us more than help us.”

Craig Federighi is more concerned about the “iMessage on Android would simply serve to remove an obstacle to iPhone families giving their kids Android phones.” Meanwhile, both Google and Apple have contemplated overtime about merging their services, (iMessage) which is far from being fruitfully lucrative for Apple.

Nonetheless, Epic’s filing also shortlisted Eddie Cue — after iMessage launched alongside iOS 5 in 2011, the iPhone maker was certain about the neglects the iPhone maker has towards developing their products for Android users.

Eddie confirmed that the tech company had the resources to develop these Android versions of its services that are also compatible with its operating system.

These suggestions were to enable “users of both platforms being able to exchange messages with one another seamlessly.” Still, developing these applications was never attempted.

Aside from Apple’s iMessage, they have other services that exclusively feature Apple products. Epic’s filing notably highlighted FaceTime — a video chat service that features exclusively on the iOS platform.

Meanwhile, Steve Jobs once revealed that its FaceTime will feature on other operating systems platforms back in 2010, which is yet to be enacted. Overtime, they have rolled out several modified versions of their video chat services exclusively for Apple products.
