Huawei Technologies has terminated its business with Oracle as the ICT equipment maker makes advancements in developing its in-house Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software rather than partnering with other international software developers to evade regulatory scolds. This business move makes Huawei an independent technology company in line with its services in producing ICT equipment for IT management purposes via MetaERP technology.

Huawei is egocentric in its development of ICT equipment making — the company less dependent on USA technology that previously placed Huawei under sanctions according to the American technology policy. Due to the prior sanctions, the IT equipment maker escaped from, Huawei can no longer use American technology without seeking a license which has reportedly impacted the Asian technology company to develop its in-house software and chips to evade regulatory scolds.

Just as the American regulatory affairs flaunt Huawei as a subject on its blacklist, the IT equipment maker also flaunts its advancements in utilizing emerging technology to develop an in-house ERP system without awaiting a regulatory license to promote business partnerships with other international technology companies.

What Is an ERP Software

Enterprise resource planning (ERP) is a software system that helps you run your entire business, supporting automation and processes in finance, human resources, manufacturing, supply chain, services, procurement, etc.

Three main types of ERP systems function with different deployment model options. The most common types of ERP systems include cloud ERP, on-premise ERP, and hybrid ERP — Oracle’s cloud infrastructure function as a hybrid system to handle Huawei’s prior ERP software.

At its core, the ERP is an application that automates the business process and provides insights and internal control, drawing on a central database that collects inputs from departments including accounting, manufacturing, supply chain management, sales, marketing, and Human Resources.

The Washington trade policy curbed Asian technology companies such as Huawei Technologies. Oracle stopped sending software updates to the IT equipment maker in 2019. Huawei has dedicated its resources which include finances and its workforce to developing its in-house MetaERP system “as the most extensive and complex transformation project Huawei has ever undertaken”

Huawei’s MetaERP software was not built by its in-house workforce alone but by a communion of local technology companies focused on cybersecurity and software development including, Qi An Xin Technology Group, Kingdee International Software Group, and Kingsoft. The Asian IT infrastructure maker is yet to publish an official report about the MetaERP. The report will confirm if Huawei will commercialize or monopolize MetaERP software, Techbooky Africa reports.
