The bustling city of Abuja played host to the riveting HP Technology Tour 2015, staged fittingly at the epoch making Transcorp Hilton on the 16th of June. Alongside a vibrant digital coterie, we had the pleasure of attending this high-profile assembly of innovative minds and industry leaders.

The event, anchored by the tech giant Hewlett-Packard (HP), was an engaging all-day affair that delved into the heart of the latest scientific advancements. From breakthroughs in consumer experience enhancements to industry-changing contributions, the trailblazers at HP laid bare the future of technology in a grand revelation.

The event highlighted HP’s ongoing efforts to advance technology across multiple sectors. With 67% of Africa’s population under 30 and Nigeria standing poised as the 10th largest mobile market worldwide, it’s evident that Africa holds the potential to become the new tech hub of the world. HP’s vision of a digitally integrated Africa involved the deployment of a wide variety of devices aiming to drive business mobility, a noble endeavor for a continent projected to play a pivotal role in the future of global technology.

The technological landscape is continually evolving, and the last few years have witnessed a significant shift from client-server systems to mobile technologies, societal media, data analytics, and cloud services. Industries such as oil, gas, finance, healthcare, and others now require high-performance systems that can cater to enormous volumes of requests with rapid response times, top-notch security, and unwavering availability.

To meet these rising demands, HP’s showcased its state-of-the-art Z Workstations claiming to amalgamate the epitome of technological innovation with unbeatable performance and absolute reliability. Further, the unveiling of their new ProBook Business Laptops and the EliteBooks, equipped with the latest Intel Core processors and significantly extended battery lives, made for a compelling choice for those on the lookout for sturdy notebooks that refuse to compromise on performance.

In addition to the significant contributions from HP, industry stalwarts Intel, MTN, and Diamond Bank were also present at the event. These three prominent organizations highlighted their unique offerings to assist small and medium-sized enterprises in Nigeria. The collaboration of Intel’s software/hardware prowess, MTN’s mobile and internet solutions, and Diamond Bank’s financing options presented an all-inclusive support system for businesses in Nigeria.

With the imminent launch of Windows 10 and its suite of revolutionary features, Nigerian businesses are poised for significant growth, armed with cutting-edge tools for market success.
