Saving images with the preferred file format is one way to organize contents in the computer and its folders. Overtime, the JPEG image format has evolved into a different file formats such as GIF, BMP, TIFF, PNG, JPG, and WebP image format. Other weird file formats such as TIFF, WebP, and LNK file formats have been stirring reactions due to the inability to finesse uploading the image/file content.
However, the WebP image format remains the optimal file format that represents Google’s custom file format for saved images from the web — this is mostly inclined with the Chrome web browser. The Windows Photo Viewer does not recognize the Google WebP file format but other versatile custom apps built by Windows can do the ordinary. Yet apps like MS Paint software are built to either open or change the WebP file format. Use the MS Paint app to transition WebP image format into JPEG/JPG, GIF, BMP, TIFF, etc.,
Launch the Paint app on Windows and open the image.
On the Windows file explorer where the image is folded, right-click on the image and select Open with > Paint.
However, double-click on the image in file explorer to open Paint — if it was personalized to open by default.
After the image is opened on the Paint draw board, click on File and select Save As.
At this point, users can choose the preferred file format to save the original WebP format.
