The Guaranty Trust Bank Limited (GTB), reports to retire its mobile banking app dubbed GTBank Mobile App to please its customers as the app will no longer access commercial bank services from May 1. However, the commercial bank seems to retire GTBank Mobile App for the newly developed app to give customers a taste of revamped commercial e-banking services.
The retired app has impacted seamless e-banking solutions for its customers including, airtime purchases, e-transfer, interbank transactions, etc. GTBank Mobile App has reportedly been criticized by GTB customers for the mobile app lagging operations that stall users from completing minor tasks such as sign-in delay, transaction error, debiting customers for an unsuccessful transaction, and other minor issues.
GTBank managing director, Segun Agbaje shared comments that express “delighted indulgence to be at the forefront of digital banking solutions that are making banking faster, easier, and safer for our customers. The simplicity of GTWorld and innovations such as facial recognition and fingerprint also ensure that our customers enjoy a seamless experience anywhere, anytime, and anyhow that they choose to bank.”
GTB is introducing GTWorld as the new mobile app to replace the retired mobile app with immediate effect, while the GTBank Mobile App has to wait till its retirement date to go extinct. The new mobile app by the commercial bank will reduce customer complaints at the care service desk. The same piled-up complaints GTBank has accumulated since GTBank Mobile App debuted a decade ago.
“Download GTWorld” — this was the headline of the letter GTBank sent to its customers advertising the new mobile app. The viral letter also carried the headline that reads “We are ending support of our very first Mobile App” for the new banking app to step into the limelight and curb minor customer complaints.
Agbaje said that the new mobile app “also reflects our commitment to driving digital banking solutions that enable our customers to make financial transactions and position us at the centre of an ecosystem that offers them benefits beyond banking.”
How to use GTWorld
GTWorld has been active since 2017 as the substitute digital app and the customer-centric approach is its chief focus in developing the app which denotes that GTB users will have less to complain about. The new GTBank mobile app is biometric endowed to protect users’ communication with commercial banks and other interbank transactions.
According to the letter, GTBank emailed its customers, GTWorld has biometric authentication, such as finger pins and facial recognition, which pose as security pathways for customers, helping them access the bank seamlessly without any physical involvement.
It is easy to migrate from GTBank Mobile App to GTWorld by installing the latest version of the mobile app on the smartphone. Per the directives on the new mobile app, users do not need to create another account because pre-existing user account has been profiled on the new mobile app. Users need to log in and continue seamless e-banking via the latest GTBank mobile app.
