In a strategic bid to enhance its services and stay ahead of the commercial technological curve, Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) has announced plans to temporarily suspend its services for four days, starting from October 11.

This temporary disruption aims to facilitate a comprehensive core system upgrade, poised to revolutionize the banking experience for its customers in line with the commercial banker’s motive for establishing its brand.

According to GTBank’s report on notifying its customers about its planned activity to pause its operations from October 11th to the 14th day of the month which implies the scheduled four-day timeframe the commercial banker dated to transition to a high-end banking infrastructure.

GTBank anticipates a new core banking application system to manage compiled financial records swiftly archived overtime via a robust suite of software developed by Finacle’s core banking software to duly compress the entire amassed financial data stacked up in GTBank’s robust archive.

Finacle is the industry-leading universal banking solution from EdgeVerve Systems. The solution helps financial institutions develop deeper connections with stakeholders, power continuous innovation and accelerate growth in the digital world.

It’s worth noting that Finacle’s core Banking technology is expected to tackle GTBank’s swift computing of its robust financial operations, alter the commercial banker’s performance in service delivery, and modify customer interactions with Guaranty Trust Bank’s approach to financial management innovation.

GTBank will be temporarily suspending its operations to undertake a major system upgrade of its core banking infrastructure also aimed at enhancing transaction processing efficiency, improving online banking that’s paired with the mobile app functionality, strengthening security measures, and introducing innovative features to further entice customers about its responsiveness to adapt to optimal innovation for commerce sake.

The outcome of GTBank’s core system innovation that’s aided by integrating the API-like Finacle‘s core banking system is expected to reveal the banker’s commitment to frontline high-end technology optimization to moderate robust financial operations.

Having discussed the operational testimony that awaits GTBank and its fiscal household after the core software suite implementation, active customers are expected to encounter a four-day-long server downtime to complete GTBank’s banking solution requested by customers via mobile or online banking.

The scheduled dates GTBank set out to pause its operations in delivering financial solutions will also affect the custom ATM services to be unavailable for the time being.

While Finacle commences upgrading GTBank’s core system today, employed bankers at the nationwide GTBank branches are mandated to shirk the religious “9AM to 5PM” working hours and close their accounts at noon.

This policy is also applicable to other employed staff at the commercial bank’s call center representative offices are also mandated to observe pausing its customer support hotline in the next four days.

GTBank’s rationale to temporarily suspend its operations in delivering financial solutions depicts the banker’s keenness to follow up on the company’s successful core system upgrade without harboring any possibilities of interrupting Finacle‘s software integration.

Techbooky suggests GTBank customers are advised to notice the short working hours updated for employees to close at noon, to ensure a seamless experience during GTBank’s four-day service suspension

Avoid last-minute transactions that may be affected by the suspension by withholding pending transactions or deleting pending transactions. At this point, Techbooky reckons customers to check their account balances before the suspension kicks off today at noon.

Have in mind that our survival tips for GTBank customers voids running low on funds during the suspension because accessing alternative banking channels might also cause server downtime issues to access customer accounts ranging from USSD (*737# for GTBank), ATM, POS, online card transactions, GTBank Mobile App, and other internet banking options.
