Google Play Store Policy Will Permanently Close Inactive Developer Accounts

...by 2022, Google’s safety sections in its service policy will be uptight.

Google announces a new set of policy updates on the existing Play Store policies. With additional safety its privacy sections become uptight — Google claims that dormant Play Store developers’ accounts will be permanently deleted, conforming to Android developer blog media.

For context, the Search Giant noted further actions will be taken if a potential inactive developer account has a dormant experience over a period. At least a year of inactivity without adding tweaks or any possible bug fix deserves a shutdown to maintain accordance.

Google’s latest Play Policy focuses its will on inactive developers existing on the Play Store without accessing its custom Play Console. Still, the Search Giant latest Play Policy will not affect developers’ account that has experienced over a thousand downloads & installs, but will likely deactivate lesser numbers of downloads & installs.

It is worth noting that inactive Play Store developers account without in-app purchase for less than 90 days will not be deleted as well. “Developers whose accounts are closed can create new ones in the future, but they won’t be able to reactivate old accounts, apps, or data.”

Google also released an update that allows developers to opt-in for its personalized ads platform with ease. You can easily obtain Google’s advertising ID, including developers that have once been flagged based on either potential fraudulent data, or lesser performance on advertisements analytics. Still, you can’t “use app set ID for ads personalization or ads measurement,” if you violate its custom policy.

“App set ID is a unique ID that, on a given device, allows you to correlate usage or actions across a set of apps owned by your organization.” Google’s developer blog post said, “it will also automatically reset if all the developers’ apps on the device are uninstalled or none of the apps have accessed the ID in 13 months.”

These essential criteria Google upholds to date include not having tied to possible fraud or less ad analytic performance — to qualify for ad ID. Potential Android Developers can enroll for “app set ID” — alternative access to personalized ads iD.

These updates about Google’s Play Policy and its personalized ads ID will be available prior to the end of 2021. Play Store Policies is scheduled to roll out specifically on September 1st, while advertisements updates will roll out alongside the Android 12 update.

Just as Android 12 anticipates using an updated advertisement policy that will be available this year, other OS platforms will access this policy in 2022.
