Per Google’s official trendy ads aired via TikTok, it may seem like “the Search Giant hasn’t changed much since its launch in 1998.” All the ads clip Google promoted in TikTok focused on its typical search service that is now modified as Google Lens, a broad experience with searching with Lens.
@bigweirdworld is here to teach you about Google Lens
Google Lens is an advanced search engine that has a lesser user base which explains why Google focused its ads on explaining in-depth features about its search engine app. The Lens magnifies the function of your device camera Lens and your inbuilt device microphone to process your search results.
It is worth noting that nothing is impossible to identify with Google Lens as well as illustrating real-time search results. For context, you can translate text on images in several languages. Based on simplicity, the translated results display as an overlay text on the actual image.
With Google Lens, you can identify anything such as clothes and the nearest store to order clothing. You can also identify plants and discovering their botanical characteristics, solving complex homework, and humming to search.
Identifying items such as clothing, the search engine uses OCR to reveal the fashion house your favourite celebrity shopped with or the designer brand the person featuring in the images wears — and where to buy the same attire or clothing.
Per Google’s blog post, its current ads on TikTok — the clips emphasized more about the Optical Character Recognition, OCR, — this tool integrates your in-depth camera features with Lens OCR that allows you to search with images instead of keywords.
You can copy the text on that image you search for or copy the text on the images you translated with Lens.
For context, you can use Lens to solve complex and tricky mathematical questions while this search engine displays a step-by-step answer to the question you search. Note that Lens uses OCR to scan the mathematical questionnaire and allows you to copy the text from your image displayed as an overlay text results on the image.
And these are just the features that @emersonbrophy could fit into a song.
Since last week, Google ads about its Lens product still trends on TikTok — these ads clips were not posted on Google’s official TikTok page. These videos have reportedly attracted up to 184,000 likes and about 1,100 viewers, per 9to5Google’s report.
TikTok viewers were mind blown by the Google Lens flagship feature that uses the inbuilt microphone on your device to process voice searches. This tool can discover accurate results about vague queries — for example, when you hum or whistle a song, Lens can detect the actual song.
The current Google Lens version is expected to rival the likes of Apple’s Live Text that will roll out a complete version this fall alongside the next iOS update. Still, Google’s first ad on TikTok has attracted a remarkable number of viewers which will influence the Lens users base.
